Hip and Ridge Replacement in Chino Hills, CA

Hip and Ridge Replacement in Chino Hills, CA

On a hip roof, every sloping edge where two planes meet is covered by the same cap shingles used on the ridge. That can add up to a lot of exposed linear feet. When those caps get old, they crack and lose granules faster than the field shingles because they are bent and fully exposed to sun.

Chino Hills, CA Shingle Roof Repair helps homeowners in Chino Hills, CA find shingle roofing contractors for full hip and ridge replacement. It is a good middle step when the field shingles still have life but the caps are failing.

The job usually covers:

• Stripping all hip and ridge caps
• Checking the top course of field shingles on both sides and replacing any that are cracked
• Installing or replacing ridge vent where it makes sense for attic ventilation
• Running new hip and ridge cap shingles from the bottom of each hip up toward the peak, so laps face away from wind-driven rain

Color matching matters here because caps are the most visible lines on the roof. A crew will bring samples to get as close as possible.
